4:30 Session 1: PEP! Preparing for any event; Evaluating feedback and Personalizing your Warm Up.

“The perfect follow up class to our MasterClass…Sharon uses her “6 Weeks to Finals” method to explain how to prepare for ANY event. In this informative first session, she will also teach you how to best evaluate and use feedback in a masterclass, at an audition, or for your students in competition. Finally, she will address how best to personalize your warm up based on your goals and current repertoire!”

10:15 Session 2: Mastering the Prelim List”

Sharon gives detailed advice on the five excerpts most asked on the preliminary round of any audition: Beethoven Leonore No.3;  Brahms Symphony 4 (mvmt IV); Mendelssohn Scherzo:  Ravel Daphnis and Chloe Suite no. 2;  Debussy Prelude to Afternoon of a Faun.

4:00 Session 3: “The Yellow Book,-24 Short Concert Pieces tips for playing and teaching”

We have all known and loved “the yellow book” for years. Residents get to pick a beloved piece from this gem and Sharon shares her experience on 5 of the most loved pieces in this gem including teaching tips and musical insights often overlooked”.

Monday August 6

10:00 Session 4: “Facetime for flutists!”

No, not the app, but the actual time you need to spend with the flute on your face in relation to your aspirations and goals! Sharon uses this analogy often..”You just need more FaceTime!” Do you know how much time you personally need and how to best spend that time? Sharon is here to help you!

1:30 Session 5: “Two’s Company, Three’s NOT a crowd!”

Being our last session, Sharon would like to coach some duos and/or trios that have formed during your stay. This session includes how to work together, favorite repertoire, cueing and performance tips.

This beautiful newly constructed 4,000 square foot three story beach house is the perfect place to enjoy your summer while growing, and engaging in flute related activities.

Located right on the beach of Lake Michigan in South Haven, this spacious home provides bountiful natural light lending way to engage in workshops as well as taking a few moments to slip away for reflection and practice.

With three levels of wrap-around decks and a patio on the first floor, you can enjoy bountiful meals, conversation and raise a toast to a perfect sunset each night.

Ample accommodations include 6  rooms and 5 baths. Two rooms provide approximately  600 square feet  of space with adult sized luxury loft beds that will accommodate up to eight adults. Two private rooms are available at an additional cost.
